Disenfranchised Citizen

Chicago Photography, New Orleans Stories and Everywhere Politics…

This picture was taken around Thanksgiving, in the Loop on State Street. As it was quite crowded with shoppers, many were out hawking their platforms and Macy’s vs. Marshall Field’s: this is a big deal in this town for reasons I’m not familiar. Like I said before, not really into the whole retail thing beyond necessity, and books. Lots of books. Too many books, but anyways, I’ve been guilty of tunnel vision in my past when it comes to what I find important, just like many others, just like a few in this picture, and when it comes to the choice between Macy’s and Marshall Field’s, I’m a bit more concerned about the homeless in our midst who are trying to get by with very few choices at all.

Have a nice day,
