Disenfranchised Citizen

Chicago Photography, New Orleans Stories and Everywhere Politics…

I have many conversations at work around the concept of privilege, and being a white male in America comes with many benefits, many of them unearned and Chicago is no different than any other city in this country when it comes to these realities. Simply put, there are many things I don’t have to worry about, think about or cope with on a daily basis unless I choose to, and I do so choose but at the end of the day I still have this choice. Acknowledged, and these conversations need to continue, especially in the light of someone like Trump, especially when walking through Chicago’s Loop I have to look up and see that prick’s name high up on the side of a building as a reminder from above of what happens across this city below…

That’s not political correctness, it’s a recognition of statistics, facts and the way America has been structured.

Have a nice day.
