If I get a call from the police department saying they have a person who tried to overdose on pills at the local emergency room and they need me to come assess this person for safety, and I tell them I will be there in thirty minutes but don’t actually show up for six hours resulting in the police not being able to respond to a murder down the street, those cops aren’t going to be congratulating me when I step into the hospital room; so why then does Kenneth Feinberg get dampened criticism and grudging praise in the press when he reaches the one billion dollar payout mark despite the fact he didn’t live up to his own hype, resulting in many residents of the Gulf Coast losing even more than they had to because of this spill?
My superiors would at least have written me up for poor performance…
