BP dumping oil waste in Mississippi landfill, the 2nd spill…

Residents in Harrison County, Mississippi appear none too pleased to be the lucky ones to have their landfill chosen by British Petroleum as the location to dump their toxic oil-spill waste. We’ve been talking about it on the internet for a week now, and John Wathen on BPOilslick got it, photos of cleanup crews with heavy loaders, dredging up sand and then dumping it on tar balls and pools of oil. Dispersants Being Blamed for Tar Balls in Lake Pontchartrain

Kevin Davis, the President of St. Tammany Parish stated today that the dispersants (Corexit), being used in the Gulf of Mexico are to blame for the oil in Lake Pontchartrain. The chemicals bond with the oil, causing it to stay underwater and it is believed this method is how those devious little tar balls are getting past the barges and through the Rigolets waterway.
